Ribeye uses role-based access — each user gets a role that governs what they can see and do. This article covers the roles, how to invite users, and how to assign access so the team has what it needs and nothing it doesn't.
The feature: Role-based access assigns each user a role — seller, strategist, adops, cs, admin, or finance — that defines their permissions. The advantage: Access matches the job: sellers plan and report, operations builds, finance sees billing — without over-granting. The benefit: Admins onboard the whole team with appropriate access in one pass, and keep sensitive areas scoped.
What is role-based access?
Role-based access (RBAC) ties each user's permissions to a role rather than setting them one by one. Ribeye's roles are seller, strategist, adops (ad operations), cs (customer success), admin, and finance — each aligned to a job and the pages it needs.
How it works
The admin invites a user and assigns a role. The role determines which pages and actions the user can access — for example, finance sees Billing, operations builds in Campaign Management, sellers work in Forecaster and Reporting. Change the role to change access.
How to set it up — For admins
1. Open Users / Settings and invite the user by email.
2. Assign the role that matches their job — seller, strategist, adops, cs, admin, or finance.
3. Confirm the role grants the pages they need (and nothing they don't).
4. For users who wear two hats, assign the role that covers their primary work; coordinate exceptions with Customer Success (CS).
5. Re-check access when someone changes roles.
Best for
• Admins onboarding a team during setup.
• Adding a new hire to an existing account.
• Adjusting access when someone changes jobs.
