Overview
Ribeye automatically applies publisher capping to all products. The cap percentage is determined by the size of your publisher list:
- 3 publishers or fewer: No capping applied
- 4–10 publishers: 40% cap per publisher
- 11–100 publishers: 20% cap per publisher
Keep in mind
Publisher capping is a best-effort threshold, not a guarantee. A single publisher may occasionally exceed its cap when its available inventory closely matches your targeting parameters. Factors like audience scale, content relevance, geography, and DSP pacing logic naturally prioritize placements where your target users are most active. When a publisher delivers a higher share, it typically signals stronger reach and audience alignment — which is ultimately what the system is optimized for.
Example
Say you're running a campaign across 8 publishers, which puts a 40% cap on each. If one of those publishers happens to have a large audience that closely matches your target demographic in a specific city, the system may deliver slightly more than 40% through that publisher. Rather than pulling back, Ribeye prioritizes getting your ad in front of the right people — even if it means one publisher carries a bit more of the load.
